Indeed it won't be YET...because Notch has hinted before on his "minecraft website page" that when people start losing interest in minecraft classic he'll decide to give the FULL game out "for free"

I'm guessing he'll keep Minecraft Classic until entertainment dies out(then hide it = silver text at bottom of page? :P ), and then replace it with Minecraft Beta.
But of course I have seen a decline in interest too in classic which means classic is dying. My only other prediction is that Notch will have to wait for beta to stabilize, he needs a bit of time to make it the best he can, and then Minecraft Classic will be replaced.

Well that's my two cents. Any other thoughts?

I'm not quite sure...because the MCDzienny Software depends on minecraft.net/classicidblahablah to get other players connected to the server...if there's no minecraft classic ids anymore then the software is dead.

(if we could connect using someone's ip & port then we would be fine...but XWOM, or wom would have to be modified as well)

I sure ain't giving up on classic! There's still many things we can experiment and do and the creativity is still there I'm gonna keep playing and keep trying to restore it! Here is one of the things me and other people have done to try restore classic http://twitition.com/p66zh (sign it if you haven't :D) and they get mail about classic every single day classic hasn't lost hope just yet...

I was just informed of what happened to MCForge...
Wow crazy news eh? If MCForge is gone...Classic might be gone!

Visit http://www.MCForge.net

The hilarious part is that fcraft, the old software server I've used, is still up and running!
