This would be a neat thing to add.
In maps tab. have another tab for 2D or 3D map viewer which will show where the players are hiding, and if any are using hacks.

I hope you guys like this idea

I saw a simlear idea on Mcforge.
Look in the game trough console winhout having to login.

They didn't know if it was possible tho and worth the time of making it.

This is a good idea, an idea that has run in my head before also. However some features may not be possible to implement. If console didn't have to login then that would mean it would have to ovveride Verify Names.

However there are advantages/disadvantages if console doesn't login.
Advantages:
-No login = no lag (by virtual viewing map means)
-Can use some commands...

Disadvantages:
-However No login = virtual access (console = ghost, cannot build, modify blocks or place blocks) [Unless Map Editor features are incorporated]

Brief Summary/Suggestion for Feature:

Spoiler:

Brief Summary:
Spoiler:

Features:
-No login needed
-Username set to [host-state]
-All Permissions(Creative Mode) given to console
-A log on password protect can be added.

Note: This solution provides the server owner the ability to log on to their server locally. (They are not logging in through minecraft.net!)

Errors are bound to occur and Mojang has not attempted to resolve them.

Can be handy if there is something in-game and u need to check it out.
But..

It is not allowed to put the minecraft.jar into the server. U need to download it when u download the server.

A 3d map view may be a nice feature, but it'd require a lot of coding, that would require a lot of time. It's not really worth it. I will think about 2d map view though.

I've just checked it, and they don't have it. And even if some software has it, as long as it is closed source or open source but with restrictive license then it's not going to be much help.
