Command Failed

Command Failed

Postby thrkrew01 » 24 Mar 2013, 03:07

Every once in awhile someone on my server trys to enter a command and gets a message saying "Command Failed". when this occurs, it affects all of the commands. i checked the error log and got this:

Code: Select all
-------------------------

----23/03/2013 5:02:31 PM ----
Type: OutOfMemoryException
Source: mscorlib
Message: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.
Target: StartInternal
Trace:    at System.Threading.Thread.StartInternal(IPrincipal principal, StackCrawlMark& stackMark)
   at System.Threading.Thread.Start()
   at MCDzienny.Player.HandleCommand(String cmd, String message

--------------------------

it spams the error log and within a few minutes latter, the server crashes. not sure if this is a bug or a problem at my end.

Try looking for a specific command that causes this and isolate it until fixed.

any command can trigger it. I hear reports of different commands all the time. for example, yesterday the last command used before this happened was /move. the day before it was /newlvl. there seems to be no particular pattern. a simple restart of the server usually fixes this.

I just noticed the type of the error says it has something to do with running out of memory. I don't think that has much to do with my computer since I have 16gb of ram and half of it is allocated to java.

Are you running 32 or 64bit?
And why is it allocated to java? The server doesn't use java.

just noticed other people are having the same problem on other threads. I was on yesterday when this happened and no commands were entered when the memory exception was triggered and I was at a stable 4gb used out of my 16gb. also, no massive worlds were loaded. it did happen right as the map started to flood though there shouldn't be problems on a 64x64x64 map. another side note is I have kickslug and intellisys set to true. if there's any more info I can provide, I will do my best to provide it.
