/mb with commands or just /cb

/mb with commands or just /cb

Postby Leeizazombie » 10 Jun 2013, 18:06

Hey ive noticed that on mcforge based servers you can execute a command using /mb eg: /mb black /spawn, if i break the black block i will spawn back, but on MCDzienny it will just show a message "/spawn" it would be great if you could code in this, even if to make a new command like /cb because i know that you cant mess with core commands.

This already exists however you have to create the command blocks via a text file, following a specific format. This allows you to have more customisation over the whole process.

See here for a detailed walkthrough from Dzienny.

i understand that but it seems it can take some time to find the x y z of a block you want a command in and to code it.

I know i mentioned before, but would it be possible to make a command that makes you place 2 blocks and those block are actively writing the info for example, $name $players $date $server $time ect..

I have merged your post here as I showed you the command blocks documentation before. You can read the topic I labelled as 'here' posted in my previous post, you will learn how to add command blocks.

You can make the block use /say $time e.t.c.

Unfortunately it isn't as easy to send the player a message personally, so for that you'd have to make a whole new system.

I think leeiza means that when you do /activewrite $name it would show your name in blocks, but to others, it would show their name.

Ah, my bad

Well that would take a lot more time. The $variables are only sent through chat, it wouldn't work with /write.
