Video: Make Your Local IP Static so you only have to portforward once!

Portforwarding Help:

Although many people have different types of wireless. The Basic Settings are the same.
//Here is the following steps.

1) Open Your Browser
2) Type in or copy this: 192.168.1.1
(usually not but sometimes the ip is 192.168.1.2)
3) Depending on the type of wireless you have go here: Identify Your Wireless Router
4) Let's say you have Netgear. On the page you are on do CTRL + F and type in netgear.
Note: Your wireless might be AT&T. just do CTRL + F and type in AT&T.
5) Now you look for for your router name here would be a common one: WGR614v9
6) Click on that link and follow the directions.
7) After that is all set up you should be done!
8) and if you used "Simple IP Static" you never have to portforward again!!! :D :D :D

Hope this helps! :)

Didn't know it actually did cost more; I never had to mess with the ip stuff. Have you tried using the program HelloWorldCool has on there?

Most IP's are static, yours may be static already.

Your internet service provider provides you with an IP address, they can either make it dynamic or static, it varies. If you want to switch, you can contact them and request for a static/dynamic IP, if they will comply then I doubt it would be at any charge.

I think my IP is dynamic because I need to port forward every time my router is switched off/restarted.

Try reading this [here]
Maybe that will work. Instead of the /all cmd command do /ipconfig. Instructions should be similar for windows 7
