Yes.
You can try the following:

1. /lowlag
2. Less maps(or smaller map sizes) : use "tools" button
3. Less /cuboid ...so limits on number of blocks allowed to be cuboided.

i personally have found that lowlag makes more lag, though the other 2 ideas seem good that "hello" said.
