The best way to get IRC working on Android.

This topic is about getting IRC working on Android the best way possible..
Now we all like to play on the MCDzienny servers and we all like to chat to people on the servers using IRC but if you use the webchat part on IRC networks it can make things hard on Android and any mobile device..

So how to fix this is go on Google Play or some other market place and download a app called AndChat..
Once you have that app just tap the add button to add a network to the list..
Make the name whatever you like so like call it by the server name or IRC Network, so like NeonGaming or Geekshed or Quakenet etc.
NOTE:Always start the Network URL with irc. so like irc.Geekshed.net ....
For the port, Just leave that bit as it is.
Next enter in all the nick names to use... so in my case ane200055, ane200055| and |ane200055|
Next you can enter in what channels to automatically join when selected the network.. so like #neonchat,#AndAnOtherChannel etc.

For the auto commands nothing needs doing but you can use this if you need to.

And the nickserv bit you can enter you IRC password if you have a registered nick.

When all done tap the save button at the top of the screen and your done.

If you have any problems just post on this Topic, I will try to explain what I can and if any of this gets to hard I will make a new topic that should make things more clear.

I tried AndroIRC and I always thought that AndChat was better tho.
Like AndChat does more and it is easy to setup

I don't mind the setup for Androirc, I love the way it has the symbol to signify group membership, ping notify when your name is mentioned and simple to use op stuff, it gives you a menu in the players name for kick, ban, voice

Yea, and one of the things I really like about AndChat is, that if your using a tablet it goes into a more tablet friendly format and if your using a more portable device like a phone or something it goes more phone or small screen friendly.

And if you're dealing with apple... well you're pretty much screwed! The only app I've really heard of and used is Mango2 Lite and it's pretty much horrible, boring and causes problems. I've heard so many good things about irc on android! I have an android tablet lying around that I can use I believe so I think I'll start using that for irc.. probably only irc cause it's not used for anything else, the thing I like most is being able to get pinged (makes little noise) when somebody says my name since on regular geekshed (on computer) it doesn't do anything except a quick little message. Point is! They should really make a good app for irc on apple based products.. who knows maybe when I get into coding ill make one myself XD

I second that on mango cant be idle for 2 mins or u get kicked, even on full version!

Yep yet another reason it's bad I even bought things like no advertisement etc. (jailbroken) it's a waste of time and money if anybody chose to spend actual money on it.. what a huge disappointment
