Simple Tutorial How To Use IRC.

Postby lucasds12 » 22 May 2013, 12:32

Hello, I will show you the steps to enable IRC in your server.

Follow the steps below if you want to know how to enable this program to your server ;)

1. Open up your server.

2. Go to properties.

3. Click "IRC" in the properties place.

4. Set the IRC server.

5. Set the IRC channel and nick.

Once your done with setting it up you have to click "Use IRC".

Now you need to go to the IRC website you picked.

Let's just say my IRC website is irc.mibbit.net.

And let's say my IRC channel is #iloveyou

Well go to the "search" option.

And go to the IRC channel of the server it's self.

Then find the IRC for your server.

Enter the nick and stuff.

Your basically done with IRC.

Hope this topic helps with IRC. I'm still figuring how to kick people from IRC. I will be posting more, and more topics with useful things.

Anyways hope this helps! :D

My way is:

Write in IRC bit on console Nickname for the IRC bot, channel and op channel. Dont save yet, just keep it open. Then go to webchat.quakenet.org and put in any nickname at all. Don't make it the same as your IRC bot though. Then put in your channel and once everything is done, go back to console. Now save it, and stay on the IRC. Restart the console and hopefully thats you :D

Worked for me, hope this helps :)

The solution to my problem was just to restart server.

Unfortunately I thought I could hook up both of my servers on the same channel, but I couldnt so I just took it off.

Yeah that's the bad part about it. Just remember though that anyone can go on it and spam the whole server and there is nothing you can do unless its a IRC server with commands.
