How to texture

=How to=
1.)How to texture
Code: Select all
Things needed:
gimp photo editor: http://www.gimp.org/
Your own website/server

    1.) First off make your own website. ( mine is at webs.com)
    2.)Follow this link files.worldofminecraft.com/
    3.)Click on auto-texturing
    4.)For testing purposes scroll below and set your motd as "&0cfg=files.worldofminecraft.com/text.cfg"
    5.)Now to make your own, open your xwom folder>lib>minecraft>terrain
    6.)Then with gimp open your terrain.png
    7.)Edit it however you want (ALWAYS KEEP A BACKUP), you can also search online for 256x256 textures.
    8.)Once you are done go to file>export> then export it from where you opened (refer to 5)
    9.)Now once you have that done, open the text.cfg file by dragging it into notepad.
    10.)Edit the elements to say what you want. (do no change the weird numbers, yet)
    11.)Once that is done, go back to the files.worldofminecraft and select upload this time.
    12.)Type:texture Choose file: <the location of your terrain file (step 5) then upload. (you should get another weird number)
    13.)Once that is done, go back to the notepad with your text.cfg and replace the environment.terrain with ^.
    14.)Save the text.cfg as whatever you want to call it (for simplicity we shall say texture, now its called texture.cfg)
    14.)Now for your website. Have one where you are the owner to it and where you can upload a file.
    15.)Upload your file(texture.cfg) to this website (on webs go to ctrl panel>upload file>single file upload>upload it then)
    16.)Get the link to the download of texture.cfg and now replace the motd to &0cfg=<link to texture.cfg>
    17.)Gratz you iz haz texture go dance outside

Note:
Always test your texture for flaws first
Always keep backups in case of a flaw
Follow these steps for changing the other parts of the test.cfg file
If you cant get it to work just reply me on here

environment.fog = the RGB value (in decimal, not hex) of the colour to use for the fog.
environment.sky = the RGB value (in decimal, not hex) of the colour to use for the sky.
environment.cloud = the RGB value (in decimal, not hex) of the colour to use for the clouds.
Note: To convert hex color codes to decimal, simply:
Open up calculator application
Put it into programmers mode
Switch to base 16
Enter the hex color code you want to use
Switch it back to base 10
Copy/paste the base 10 number to your config

worldofminecraft wrote:server.name = Crazy name
server.detail = Replacement for motd
detail.user = User line
environment.terrain = f3dac271d7bce9954baad46e183a6a910a30d13b
environment.edge = 685cfceb13ccee86d3b93f163f4ac6e4a28347bf
environment.side = 7c0fdebeb6637929b9b3170680fa7a79b656c3f7
environment.level = 7
environment.cloud = 6493539
environment.fog = 16237559
environment.sky = 13054663
server.sendwomid = true

Save that as your text.cfg file and replace the terrain with the wierd numbers that you got
You also have to edit the other things on that

p.s. kozmik if you were still wondering how I changed my sea level, it was my texture pack :p the environment.lvl
hira I need to tell you something
